About : Akira, our rep instructor in TOKYO also happens to be the one of the faces of TNT. If you notice on the website and also on one of the buntings at the foot of the staircase leading up to TNT, you would usually be greeted by the picture (above). Although his nickname is The Jap, he grew up in Malaysia and he’s as Malaysian as can be. Have a teh tarik with him and you will immediately see what I mean!

He has been teaching at TNT since 2003 and has his very own distinct style of teaching plus combos. Since he’s currently based in Japan working as an Engineer, you won’t see him much. But he comes back to Malaysia at least once or twice a year, every year. So don’t be surprised to see him teaching at TNT once in a while!

Since he’s all the way in Japan now and doesn’t have the benefit of TNT to train at, he still keeps on kickboxing to stay fit at Masato’s (a well known K1 Fighter) gym. Watch out for his kicks when he’s in town, he kicks like an Ox!
